Hussain Rehar — He Did Not Follow the Rules. He Rewrote the Fit.
CELE No. 07 follows the Lahore maverick from a PIFD classroom to MM Alam Road, Shalimar Gardens, a Paris runway and the red carpet at Cannes — in his own make.

He did not follow the rules. He rewrote the fit.
This is the blog edition of CELE No. 07, our Autumn 2026 Maverick Issue on Hussain Rehar. The chapters below follow the issue's own running order: Gujranwala to Gulberg, four signatures, Jeevan in Paris, Cannes in ivory.

The Designer — Hussain Rehar
The Designer
At PIFD they taught him the rules. In August 2017 he opened his own doors on MM Alam Road and kept none of them. Two award-show nods later, the industry stopped calling him rising. Rising implies permission. He answered to no house but his own.

Cannes, in ivory silk
The Croisette — Cannes, in Ivory Silk
An ivory silk sherwani on the red carpet of the 79th Cannes Film Festival, an emerald cuff for punctuation: the festival dress code, answered in Lahore's mother tongue. That week he also presented "Lahore — A Knot in South Asia's Loom" at an invite-only showcase at Château St George, arguing that zardozi, phulkari, khussa and the dupatta deserve their own names on the global stage.

In his own make
The Maker — In His Own Make
The ivory prince coat, worn by the man who cut it: pearl buttons, paillette cuffs, a garden at night. He designs on his own body first. The house fits because he does. The first fitting is always his.

Flora, fauna, thread
The Craft — Flora, Fauna, Thread
A botanical pattern language, gardens filed into embroidery. Adda handwork and gota set into disciplined panels, velvet against organza, ornament that behaves like architecture. Ornament with discipline.

The structured line
The Silhouette — The Structured Line
Western tailoring carrying eastern handwork: jewelled medallions on a clean white jacket, ease below a deliberate shoulder. The Rehar woman is not dressed to blend in. Clean lines, loud intent.

Jugnu Lahore
Jugnu Lahore — The Firefly
Ready-to-wear, launched October 2023. Couture taught him discipline; Jugnu is where he plays — prints that misbehave politely, borders that keep them honest, daywear with an editorial pulse. Couture is the sentence. Jugnu is the wink.

Jeevan in Paris
Jeevan — Paris, in His Palette
The fourth signature. Jeevan opened its Spring/Summer '26 chapter in Paris at the Hôtel de Maisons — white, gold, black and red; embroidered coats and layered skirts moving under runway light. Lahore cut. Paris lit.

Velvet, inherited
The Groom's Side — Velvet, Inherited
An embroidered sherwani beneath a trailing velvet shawl: regalia without costume. Menswear in the same hand — ornament heavy, line strict, light kept low on purpose.

The archive, worn
Regalia — The Archive, Worn
An emerald dorukha shawl over deep maroon; banarsi brocade thrown over midnight blue. He wears the archive the way it deserves — casually, and without apology.

The house travels well
The Company — The House Travels Well
Emerald and orchid-pink on the evening circuit: his own embroidered sherwani beside the house's sequinned green. Proof of concept, photographed nightly.

The evening register
After Dark — The Evening Register
A midnight column with a crystal drop; banarsi crimson by firelight. Proof the house can lower its voice without losing it.
The Verdict
Rising Talent was the nomination. Permanent fixture is the verdict. Nine years from a first collection to four signatures, a Lux Style Award for Fashion-Forward Brand of the Year, a solo show in Shalimar Gardens, the opening slot at LAAM Fashion Week's first solo showcase, and a Paris runway of his own. The rules he declined to keep were never missed.
Why he matters to CELE
Rehar is the designer who proved a Pakistani label can run on Instagram cadence and still land in Cannes. He is native to the way Celecart's shoppers already discover fashion: a look on a feed, an immediate want, a search for the source.

“Structured, bold, minimal embroidery — something Hussain Rehar would approve of.”
